A few weeks ago, I posted this question: What is a “good” student? I saw a couple responses. I would posit that a “good” student is one who is (as Chuck said) motivated to learn and I would add to excel at applying what is learned according to what was taught. A teacher can be a person or a textbook (paper or online).
Christ is often referred to as a “good” teacher from people who aren’t really followers. CS Lewis didn’t give us the option of limiting Jesus as being just a “good teacher” because a good teacher would be one who proclaims truth. So he first and foremost proclaimed that He and the Father are One (along with the Holy Spirit. I’m not going to get into that now, but you can easily look up scriptures that support the Trinity.) Christ taught His followers to love our enemies, to pray for those who oppose. Now, this isn’t meant to be taken on a national/governmental level, but in our daily interactions, as followers, on a relational level with other individuals. So IF...
