Details of the Ceasefire Agreement Taking Shape in Gaza, According to Lebanese al-Mayadeen Channel, Citing a "Palestinian Official":

The first phase of the agreement will last 42 days. During this phase, 34 Israeli hostages, including women, children, elderly individuals, and female soldiers, will be released.

Inside Destroyed Thermal Power Plant

Today I went to visit one of the power plants destroyed by Russia in the Kyiv region. It was an amazing sight. This was one of the largest power production facilities in Kyiv and was completely taken off line by a salvo of missiles in April. It is old enough that many of the parts were somewhat irreplaceable.

Happy Birthday Hot Zone!

On December 18 six years ago I decided to start the Hot Zone on Youtube. It stemmed from the many requests I get from friends and acquaintances to "carry my luggage sometime" as I travel across the globe to report on wars and disasters. Apparently many people think that looks like fun. It's actually a lot of work, and sometimes dangerous. But the Hot Zone has morphed into a way for all of you to be able to directly impact the people who are being affected by crises around the globe, to "not just make the news, but make it better."

So thank you for being a part of the journey.

BTW, if you want to see the very first video I ever uploaded to the Hot Zone, here it is:

We've been working with these refugees from Venezuela for several years now, and the number of people we are supporting keeps growing. These are the kids from the little church that helps these mothers, and we're raising funds to help them give these precious little ones a good meal for Christmas and some gifts. Feel free to "tip" below or go to https://linktr.ee/holton to help out.
