I have a few reflections on Chuck’s live from yesterday on YouTube.
1. When homosexuality was removed as a diagnosable disorder back in 1973 (same year that Roe v. Wade was passed.... coincidence???) that was a true Pandora’s box moment. This was done in response to the events of the Stonewall riots in NYC, where police raided a gay bar, and riots ensued. There was no scientific rationale whatsoever for removing the diagnosis. It was ALL a political move to appease. Period. Non-Heterosexual, non-monogamous sexual activity was unofficially normalized back then and it’s only accelerated with the passage of gay marriage. Our society has reduced sexual union to something that has no more significance or impact on their spirituality or mental health than something like bowling. (Hmmm what should I do tonight... go bowling or have sex with someone who’s willing?)
2. The more our nation moves away from Judeo Christian values, something that most certainly contributed to #1 above, the less we are concerned about suffering of others. Exhibit A: the celebration we are seeing with the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Imagine some of these demonic celebrants having children, and seeing their parents celebrating murder. Let THAT sink in. What do you think the response will be?
3. I’ve NEVER met a single person, as a professional mental health practitioner, that has said to me, “Yeah, I only play video games for about a half hour a week.” Not one! EVERY client who I’ve ever met with has:
a. Justified video games as nothing more than a game, that has no significant influence on their mental and
spiritual health.
b. Plays multiple hours per week. That’s on top of social media usage which adds up to at least 2 or more hours PER DAY. Can you imagine if you studied a foreign language, a musical instrument, or study how to repair cars for 2 hours per day? You’ll be bilingual, playing in a symphony, or opening your own auto repair business in 6 months or LESS!
4. About 70% of PASTORS have or are currently struggling with pornography usage. What does that tell you about the power of this sin? I actually wrote a letter to RFK Jr. and encouraged him, as part of the MAHA agenda, to consider working with the other powers-that-be to pass a law whereas ANY WEBSITE that has pornographic material be relegated to a new internet domain: “ .XXX “ Any web developer or organization that does not comply should be fined thousands of dollars per day that they allow pornography to remain on their sites without the new domain. (I’ve not yet received a response.... I may not. I may need to go through my congressman instead to start this ball rolling.) Doing this would make it much easier for computer monitoring and blocking software to keep a stronger margin to protect our children from this sinful filth, not to mention EVERYONE wanting to avoid seeing it. This would hopefully satisfy those who are most concerned about outlawing or banning porn being just a violation of the First Amendment. (There’s no wisdom in holding an overly simplistic view as that.)
5. We do not allow the reason for something like assassinations/school shootings to simply be pure evil. We are quick to label someone who engages in these horrific acts as mentally ill. I have shared this opinion before with my colleagues at a Catholic University and they were appalled that I would suggest such a thing. (Go figure.) As a mental health practitioner, I’ve YET to meet someone in all the venues where I’ve worked that would go do something of this nature. To automatically label someone as mentally ill and to suggest that they are now possibly or likely to go do something like this would not only be wrong, but be another manifestation of the very evil we are seeing today. (Remember: We have an enemy who is scheming and clever.) The tendency to commit these atrocities can, in rational, wise human beings, easily be connected to secular, progressive philosophies, which ultimately celebrate carnality as the highest form of freedom. IRONICALLY: to imply that someone who does these things as purely mentally ill, without an evil motive, would necessitate a new diagnosis, one that would require criteria to be established which would undoubtedly include the influence of liberal/progressive ideas as one of the main criteria for receiving the diagnosis of a crazed murderer... something I;m sure that the lefties in our nation and world wouldn’t be in favor of. (Forgive me for ending that sentence with a preposition!) Have a good day!
